KAMRANGA/STAR-FRUIT CHUTNEY

This is a sweet,sour and spicy Kamranga Chutney, made by my mom. It keeps well in the fridge for up to a week. Try out the recipe and I'm sure you'll love it๐
Procedure-
1.Firstly wash the fruits, then cut its edges and slice them.Then Heat Mustard oil in a Kadhai/ Cooking pan.
2.Roast Coriander seeds,Cumin seeds and Dry red chilli, then crush them and keep it aside.
3. Add Panch phoran to the oil in Kadhai.Fry till brown and you get a nice aroma.
4.Now add the sliced star fruits . Then add 1tsp salt to it and mix well.Close the lid for the sometime.
5.Then add Jaggery (250 gm) , Red chilli powder (1/2tsp) and Turmeric (1/2 tsp) . Let it cook for 7-8 minutes.
6.Then add about 2 cups of water, close the lid and bring it to a boil .
7. Check after 7-8 minutes if the star fruits are cooked properly . Then add the crushed masalas prepared and it's ready to serve.
* If you want to make aachar and store it for some days then do add some Vinegar to it.
* You can also add sugar if you don't have Jaggery at home.
